Our EZ Secure Lock ball mount is a Camlock system and requires the hitch ball to be adjusted up or down to allow for a strong ridged connection. This is needed to keep the dolly from walking out or rolling off to the side when moving your trailer.

We have a few options that you may want to consider like our Universal Hitch Adapter that mounts on the side of your trailer for a quick, stable attachment. This option will also gain more traction for the dolly for when you shorten the leverage length you gain more tongue weight over the dolly thus giving more traction over the dolly wheels.

If you use a smaller ball than what your trailer requires you risk the chance of the hitch ball pulling through the latch lock, causing the dolly to become unstable, tip away or roll off to the side and possibly pulling out of the trailer causing damage to your trailer and tow dolly.
